There are many ways to protect your possessions. Modern materials provide an almost unlimited choice for the construction of barrier structures. The most popular is the fence from the profiled sheet. Installing it is not very difficult, but the price is up to both the owner of the country house and the owner of the cottage.

- 50 modern design options for fences from profiled sheet:
The corrugated fence is a section of galvanized steel sheet with a wavy surface. They are fixed on the lags between the supporting posts. Before installation, such sheets are pre-painted and treated with anti-corrosion compounds. The applied polymer paint does not fade over time, which is an indisputable advantage.
Additional benefits of building a fence from this material:
- The increased rigidity of the structure ensures its strength.
- Versatility and practicality - the fence is suitable for the fence of a large house, a small cottage, for facing facades and as a garage door.
- Sound insulation - significantly reduces noise, which is important for houses located next to the road.
- Budget cost.
- Fairly modern appearance.
- Does not burn.
- Large selection of options due to the size, color and type of profile.
- Several types of coverage.
- The service life is about 30 years.
- Quickly and easily erected and mounted.
- During service life does not require additional maintenance.
Important! High wear resistance is significantly reduced if the sheet is not cut correctly. It is impossible to inflict even the slightest damage to the material. Use only a hacksaw or scissors for metal.
There are few shortcomings, but when building a fence from corrugated board, they must be taken into account:
- High “sailing” of sheets is the most significant drawback. With large gusts of wind, the material behaves like a sail, that is, it inflates and can demolish the entire barrage structure. If the poles are not secured by technology, the structure will collapse either at the first heavy wind, or the structure will begin to loosen gradually with the initial skew of the gate.
- Low rust protection. It is impossible to completely protect the sheets from water, but they increase the moisture resistance by additional primer and repeated painting of all open places, places of cuts and fasteners.
Any material has drawbacks, but if you know about them in advance, the consequences can be minimized.
Types of corrugated fence
Installation of a profiled sheet can be performed both vertically and horizontally. Neither strength, nor rigidity, nor other parameters change from this. The main indicator that must be taken into account when choosing a metal fence from a profiled sheet is the height of the waves. Low indicators give a large load on the sheet, high ones can withstand both gusty and heavy winds.But only with proper installation.
The types of profiled sheet are distinguished depending on the marking:
- The lowest indicator is for profile C 8, but it is also the cheapest, when erecting large-scale structures for large areas of construction, it can save a lot. But this sheet is not suitable for the construction of long sectional spans or high fences. Most often used as a decorative cladding.
- The C 10 profile is a little stronger, but it is also not very suitable for fences.
- The most popular marking is C 14. The rigidity is sufficient for a barrage structure, the price is acceptable. Must be combined with a solid brick foundation.
- Profile C 15 has a significant difference in the form of a wide rib. The price of such corrugated board is higher, but the installation technology is similar to the previous ones.
- The wave of marking C 18, C 20, C 21, which is the best in terms of rigidity, can be used by the owner when choosing such a sheet.
Important! Structures from profile C 20, 21 have a rather unsightly appearance. You can fix this by combining an iron profiled sheet with a high brick foundation or forged elements.
Corrugated fence with brick pillars
Choosing a fence from a profiled sheet with a brick foundation and pillars for the site, it is necessary first of all to draw up a project taking into account design features. It indicates:
- site plan with accurate perimeter measurements;
- differences and irregularities of the territory;
- Pole installation locations
- span width, not less than 3 meters.
Important! A fence made of brick and corrugated board is installed on a strip foundation. Formwork is collected only for the basement. It is made from a semi-edged cheap board.
Step-by-step construction plan:
- make accurate measurements;
- fill the foundation;
- to erect brick pillars;
- fasten the sheets.
The last step is fixing on the posts of a profiled sheet. In order to minimize material damage, experts advise following the following recommendations:
- to preserve the lower edge of the sheet, when installing it, the brick foundation is covered with a thick layer of cardboard;
- places for self-tapping screws are marked in advance, their number should not exceed 6 pcs. per running meter;
- when fastening sheets, the drill is used at low speeds, the sheets are overlapped, screwing to the logs using rubber gaskets.
Such a fence is installed independently in 2 weeks, but additional assistance will be required to secure the frame.
Fence from colored corrugated board on screw piles
The construction on screw piles is considered the most pre-fabricated and the only option for fencing on unstable soil.
Screw supports are distinguished by tips: peaks or pipes. But in any case, there are cutting screw blades, it is due to them that the piles are screwed into the ground. The complexity of establishing the support and the stability of the future fence depend on the number of blades. If it is planned to build a light fence in the country, single-leg supports are used. When erecting a capital structure on complex soils, many turns are used.
Experts point out some of the nuances of installation:
- if initially the support was screwed incorrectly, then you can unscrew and repeat this procedure only 2 times;
- You can’t try to bypass the obstacle if it occurs at a depth of 1 m, the support is left as is, otherwise the blades may break;
- preliminary drilling is strictly prohibited;
- sheathing with a professional sheet starts from the corner;
- if the angle of rotation of the structure is less than 25 °, the sheet is not cut, but slightly bent.
Important! Screwing is stopped when hard soil is reached. Subsequently, screw piles are aligned along the entire perimeter by cutting.
Stone Fence
If the installation of fencing from an ordinary colored profiled sheet seems commonplace to the owner, purchase a stone-print material. Moreover, under a wild stone, facing or brick, you can choose according to the presented sample in advance.
The cost of such a fence will add up to the price of the profiled sheet, the size of the fence, the material for the pillars, the depth of the foundation, the print (one-sided or two-sided).
Metal Column Design
The easiest and most cost-effective option for installing a fence is to mount corrugated board on metal poles. They are pipes with a round, less often with a square section. Diameter from 50 mm, metal thickness from 2.5 mm.
Important! When choosing metal poles, it is important to consider the climatic conditions of the area, the possibility of strong, stormy gusts of wind.
The length of the pillar support is the sum of the height of the fence and the underground part, in a ratio of 2x1. That is, 2 ground parts and 1 underground. In the northern regions, the underground part of the column is deepened to the depth of freezing of the soil.
Important! At the gate installation site, more powerful poles are installed - metal thickness from 3 mm, diameter from 60 mm.
When erecting a fence from a profiled sheet, it is necessary to make the most accurate measurements, analyze the soil (for density, freezing, the presence of groundwater, etc.) and strictly observe the technology.
